You can also choose to delete all your cookies.
  • Firefox In the Firefox menu, go to "Tools" then "Options" On the "Privacy" tab, click on "Show cookies" Find the cookies you want to delete and click on "Delete cookies".
  • Internet Explorer Internet Explorer does not currently allow you to manage cookies on a case-by-case basis. To delete all your cookies: click on "Tools", then on "Internet Options". In the "General" tab, under "Browsing History", click on "Delete". Check the "Cookies" box, then click on "Delete".

The effects of your browser's "private browsing" feature

The "Private Browsing" mode now offered by virtually all web browsers enables users to surf the web without storing their browsing or download histories.

As far as cookies are concerned, any that have been saved during "private browsing" will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

Private Browsing" mode does not allow you to refuse or prevent cookies from being stored on your computer during browsing. The "private browsing" mode simply allows you to limit the length of time cookies are stored on your computer, so that they are automatically deleted when you close the "private browsing" mode.

Some cookies are deposited only if you give your consent.

On the other hand, the following cookies do not require user consent:

  • shopping cart" cookies for an e-commerce site;
  • session ID cookies, for the duration of a session, or persistent cookies limited to a few hours in certain cases;
  • authentication cookies; session cookies created by a media player;
  • load balancing session cookies;
  • certain audience measurement analysis solutions (analytics);
  • persistent cookies used to personalize the user interface (choice of language or presentation).
